The advertising industry has put such a stress on what is acceptable; it has created an unrealistic standard of beauty. I decided to shoot women whose body types are not represented and make them appear and feel like they are supermodels. I think about all the work that goes into making the perfect advertisement or billboard image and how I could too, make anyone feel “super” by photographing them. The truth is, beauty is a forever changing concept that should never be defined by mainstream media but instead by the individual’s perceptions of themselves.
